American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Sponsors Coloring Contest

by Sherry Simmons on May 7, 2015

The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 191 is sponsoring a coloring contest for grades K-2.  There will be three winners in each grade.  1st place will receive $15 to Dairy Queen, 2nd place will receive $10 to Dairy Queen and 3rd place will receive $5 to Dairy Queen.

There is only one entry per student.

Name, grade and teacher’s name need to be written on the back of each entry.

Entries must be submitted no later than Friday, May 15th.

Winners will be determined and announced no later than Thursday, May 21st.

For the second year, a group of local volunteers known as Bremen Community Cares, is partnering with the Bremen VFW Ladies' Auxiliary Post 8972 to coordinate a Memorial Day Parade on May 25th.

We would like all participants and their families to walk with us during the Memorial Day Parade.  Winners will carry their winning pictures during the parade.  This year's parade will begin at approximately 10:15 at the post office on North Center Street, stop at the Yellow River Bridge for a wreath ceremony, and commence at the cemetery for a special service conducted by the VFW Honor Guard. Following the service, Bremen Community Cares will sponsor a picnic and tailgate at Shadyside Park. Live music and food will be available as well as a prize for the best-decorated tailgate party.  Everyone is invited to join in this special community event with family, friends and neighbors.

In the Spirit of Service not Self for Veterans, God and Country.
