Bremen Cafe Closes Its Doorsby Amy Wenger on July 11, 2014
For the second time in as many weeks, one of downtown Bremen's most popular and lively mainstays has been lost to the community. The Bremen Cafe, located at 111 East Plymouth Street, has ended a long run as an established local destination for spirits and social gatherings, with offerings ranging from karoake, musical features, sports viewing, and stand-up comedy. Indications are that Saturday, July 5 was the final day of business.
The news seemingly caught most civic leaders and residents considerably off guard. Director of Operations Trend Weldy, when contacted on Friday morning, could only verify the closing, but had no other details. Multiple attempts to reach Bremen Cafe management regarding the issue went unanswered.
The last known information available was that the business is now up for sale. As more developments become known, we'll update you as soon as possible.
