Bremen- On May 30th 2016 at 10:30 am, Bremen kicks off Memorial Day with its third annual parade. The Parade will start at the post office on W. Center Street and end at the Bremen Cemetery. Memorial Day is a day dedicated to remember those who have fought and fallen for our country. With the help of the Bremen VFW and BCC (Bremen Community Cares) Bremen has been able to kick off and celebrate Memorial day for the last 3 years. With each year getting bigger and better due to the growing participants in the parade itself.
This year's parade has quite a few participants, among them there will be Red Hochstetler; the parade marshall, the women's VFW auxiliary, as well as veterans, and The Bremen Emerald Alliance Marching Band. The Bremen Fire Department are providing fire trucks as well. There will be "walkers" who will be carrying photos of their beloved veterans, such as fathers, grandfather's and fallen family members who served our country to protect our freedom.
The BCC welcomes anyone who wants to bring photos of their veterans and join the “ walker” in the parade if they wish. There will be a ceremony at the cemetery after the parade for those who wish to join in the celebration and pay their respects.
