Bremen Jr. Miss Contestants

by Amy Wenger on July 30, 2014

For just over half a century, the young women of this community have been invited to participate in a tradition which provides them a memorable opportunity to display their grace, charisma, and perhaps most notably, their warm and gracious hearts.

Yet there can only be one who will be crowned as Bremen's Junior Miss.  Eight girls, all incoming seniors at Bremen Senior High School, are looking to capture this year's title.  The pageant will take place on Saturday, August 9 at 7 p.m. in Bowen Auditorium.  Admission is $6, with children ages three and under free of charge.

This year's guest emcee will be Kristen Bien, who is currently the Saturday morning news anchor at WSBT-TV.  An invitation has also been extended to all past winners of the Junior Miss pageant's 50 year history.

The ladies will be issued points in five various categories.  Scholastics determines 20 percent of the overall score, while the Judges Interview comprise 25 percent of the score.  Talent makes up another 25 percent of the combination, while the categories of Fitness and Self-Expression each carry 15 percent of the score.  At the conclusion of the program, a second and first runner-up will be chosen, followed by the announcement of the new Junior Miss.  More than $2,000 in scholarship funds will be distributed among the winners.

Here is an introduction to the contestants who will be featured in competition during the pageant:
