Bremen Police Host Memorial Serviceby Bremen Police Department on April 21, 2015
The Bremen Chamber of Commerce and Bremen Police Department would like to invite the community to a Memorial Service on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 1:00pm at the Bremen Police Department in cooperation with National Police Officer Memorial Week. Refreshments will be provided.
National Police Officer Memorial Week is May 10th through May 16th. It was created to honor fallen law enforcement officers throughout the United States. Last year, approximately 127 federal, state and local law enforcement officers gave the supreme sacrifice and were killed in the line of duty. There were also 20 K-9’s killed in the line of duty. On average, 140 – 160 law enforcement officers are killed in the line of duty every year. The number of police officers killed on the job skyrocketed 40% in 2010 and 24% in 2011. The fatality rate for police officers per 100,000 is 18. To date this year there has been 37 police officers killed in the line of duty.
Please join us on May 12 for our Memorial Service and take a moment during this week to remember all police officers and pay honor to the law enforcement officers who were killed or injured in the line of duty while serving their communities.
