On January 19th, 2015 the Bremen Volunteer Firemen's Association held a Retirement / Appreciation dinner. The Firemen's Association thanked many people and businesses for their support in the past year. We also had four members of the association retire in 2014. The Firemen's Association thanked the family members of the retirees for allowing them to give up family time to serve our community.
Here are the 2014 retirees not present:
1) Kevin Pollard served 5 years and 3 months. Kevin received a plaque and a silver retirement badge.
2) Mike Sauter served 10 years and 11 months. Mike received a plaque and a gold retirement badge.
Here are the 2014 retirees that were present: This is a father and son.
1) Trent Stouder served 15 years and 10 months. Trent received a plaque and a gold retirement badge.
2) Jay Stouder served 35 years and 10 months. Jay received a plaque, gold retirement badge and his duty helmet.
The Firemen's Association also recoginzed 5K committee members Brian Teall and Erin Welborn. They were insturmental in helping get the inagural 5K race in place.
The 5K committee decided that they would donate half of the proceeds from the race to the Hoosier Burn Camp. We were fortunate to have Mark Koopman from the Hoosier Burn Camp with us. Mr. Koopman was pleased to accept such a donation from the 5K committee.
