Communities Begin Planning Bicentennial Celebration for Indianaby Historic Bremen on September 3, 2014 |
The State of Indiana will have its bicentennial in 2016. This is an opportunity to involve our community in celebrating Indiana's unique heritage.
The state and counties are already making plans to involve all 92 counties in projects that include the whole state. A torch will make its way through every county. There are also opportunties for many local and regional programs to be endorsed as Bicentennial Legacy projects.
Online you can go to www.indiana2016.org and learn more about things being planned for 2016. We would like to get together and discuss things that Bremen can do to celebrate the Bicentennial. If possible, send a representative from your organization or business to come up with ideas for an activity your group might be willing to sponsor in 2016. Individuals or organizations may also be willing to join in a town-wide activity. Any support is appreciated.
Join us on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Senior Center (downtown) at 103 W. Plymouth St., Bremen, to help make plans for celebrating Indiana's 200 years of statehood.
