Model Aircraft Fly-In this weekend in Bremen

by Tammy Venable on July 7, 2014

This Sunday, July 13th, Bremen Hobbies will be sponsoring a Fly-In.  The Sky Knights, a Bremen based model aircraft club, will be holding its annual Corn & Sausage Fly-In at the groups flying field, located just South of Bremen at 5593 Fir Road.

Gates for the event will open at 9:00 a.m. and is open to the public until 5 p.m.  There is no charge for entry but a donation is accepted for the meal of Sweet Corn, Sausage and Drink which is being served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A variety of large and small radio control gas and electric powered model aircraft will be exhibited and flown.  A key attraction will be Lee Watkins of South Bend and Chuck Hamilton of Bremen simultaneously flying their World War II scale fighter aircraft.

Over 50 aircraft are expected to be on hand from clubs around the area.  Modern, WWI and WWII scale aircraft will be flown and shown during the one day event.

For more information about the club or about getting started in the hobby, contact Tony DeRosa at Bremen Hobbies, 574-546-3807 or stop in to see what is available in the store at 308 N. Bowen Ave. (SR 331), Bremen.
