New Mexican Restaurant Opening on Monday, Nov. 24by Tammy Venable on November 20, 2014
There’s a new restaurant in town! On this coming Monday, November 24th, El Huarache Loco will be opening it’s doors in downtown Bremen. Several Mexican restaurants have opened at the location, 119 W. Plymouth Street, in the past and have failed. It’s quite possible El Huarache Loco will be able to succeed.
New owners, Amanda Ibarra and Noe Flores have remodeled the building inside and a little paint change on the outside (more changes to the outside will come in spring). Both Amanda and Noe have a passion for cooking for large crowds. Both have worked in the restaurant business in the past. Noe’s uncle owns and operates the Mexican restaurant in downtown Nappanee, El Cielito Lindo. He also worked for his uncle for quite some time as a cook there.
Amanda and Noe have a small family and recently moved here from Marion Indiana, where Amanda worked in the restaurant industry. Both of them came from agricultural families and have always had a love of cooking. Amanda stated, “I started off by cooking for my dad’s workers”. She added, “I met my husband in the restaurant business and from there we started making plans to make our own restaurant business”.
The restaurant will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Parking can be found on the street in front of the store or in the back of the store in the town parking lot. The restaurant will be giving 15% discounts on opening day only!
A Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony is being planned for sometime in December by the Chamber of Commerce.
