Standing at the heart of one of Bremen's most enduring and memorable shopping landmarks, it was a little difficult to tell which was shining brighter - the dazzling summer sunshine, or the joyful smile on the face of Jessica Young, the owner of the newly unveiled Tony's Grill, which officially debuted on Monday, June 16.

Situated at the former Kopper Kettle (Karen's / Pancake House) location, the decadent aromas could easily entice and captivate customers to sample the extensive menu, just as the classic and sleek atmosphere certainly will as well.  "This is just the first step" in an extensive renovation process that involves the entire plaza, Young explained.  She noted that the original restaurant site had fallen into a state of deterioration and disrepair, and the task of sprucing up the facility was a daunting task.  Within six months to a year, Young said, she ideally hopes to have additional retail space available to lease to potential businesses, and she is very eager to hear from the community as to what they might like to visit and patronize.  "We would love to hear from people about what they'd like to see here," Young said.  "We want it to be something that the town's going to want, and that it's something that everyone can use."

As for Tony's Grill premiere day, business had gained momentum by midday, she observed, adding that she hopes guests will share their experiences with others.  In the meantime, "it will give us time to get everyone trained and work out the kinks," Young added.  "We fully expect to be busy this coming weekend."

The menu at Tony's Grill is plentiful, and boasts a variety of traditional favorites, such as steak, seafood, pasta, burgers, and chicken, to name just a few.  There are a few specialties with international influences, such as the Grecian salad and gyros, along with frog legs on the weekends.  One entire page of the menu is devoted to a wide range of breakfast entrees and sides, and it's a meal that is served all day.

(The People's Paper will be featuring reviews from several local civic leaders and customers, who are planning to dine at Tony's Grill this week and share their thoughts on the food and the service.)
Tony's Grill adds this new Bremen restaurant to others that they operate in the Hoosier cities of Brazil, Rockville, Peru, and Demotte.

The restaurant will be open seven days a week - Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.; and Sunday from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m.  The location is 1223 West Plymouth Street near the Family Dollar store, and the telephone number is (574) 546-2223.
