Rentown Old Fashion Days A Huge Successby Tammy Venable on September 8, 2014 |
For the past several years, Rentown Old Fashion Days has grown. This 4th year was no exception, the biggest so far to date. A school fundraiser for Amish schools has turned into an exciting event for the community.
Held on September 5th and 6th this year, it hosted a very large variety of vendors, food, bake sale and free train rides for the kids. They had demonstrations of an old fashion saw mill, cider press, buzz saw, threshing, iron and harness plowing, hay press, and a corn husker. Other demonstrations included charcoal making, blacksmith, pottery maker, painting artist, basket weaving, rug weaving and wood carving. Also had events like adult tricycle races, steam games, tug-of-war with a mule team, campfire singing and a fabulous spark show straight from the iron pipes.
Far too many things to list for this 2 day event. If you didn't attend this year, remember to plan it for next year.
