The People’s Paper Student Journalism Program kicks off today!
To find out how to enroll in this program, e-mail Tammy Venable at email@example.com
The students of Bremen Public Schools, Union-North United Schools, WaNee Schools, including Private Schools or homeschoolers in those districts are eligible for the 2014-15 school year. Currently, those towns that are needing stories are; Bremen, Lakeville, LaPaz, Nappanee, Wakarusa and Wyatt. The People’s Paper focuses on small towns in Northern Indiana at the current time. Other towns will be considered upon request.
The People’s Paper is looking for journalists that write about happenings at their school or in their community; sports, academics, events, etc. The more stories you submit, the better your chance of winning!
Sign up and submit your stories to the following e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org. When you sign up, include your name, address, phone number, Age, Grade, School, and e-mail address. Stories should be edited and should need very little editing by The People’s Paper. The fewer mistakes there are in the story, the more likely your story will be selected.
The People’s Paper will give a prize to the top 2 students of all of the participating areas combined. The prize given in the 2014-2015 school year is a tablet with some extras. All students that submit and get published a minimum of 5 stories will receive a TPP T-Shirt and participation certificate. Even if you are not selected as the winner, this is a great reference to have on your resume once you leave school to further your ambitions.
We will give awards out at the end of the school year. You will be given notice prior to the event.
Format for submitting a story by e-mail:
SUBJECT: School, Student Name, Story Subject (Sports, Event, Academics, Awards, etc)
