4-H online enrollment (www.JoinIndiana4-H.org) is now open and being taken for the 2015 St. Joseph County 4-H Veterinary Science Program through January 15, 2015. All participants must be enrolled in 4-H prior to the first class offering. Enroll at www.JoinIndiana4-H.org

Youth in grades 3 thru 5 will meet January 26, February 2, and February 9.

Youth in grades 6 thru 12 will meet February 16, 23, March 2, 9, 16, and 23.

Meetings will be held at the Western Veterinary Clinic, 25190 State Road 2, South Bend.  The meetings will start at 6:00 PM and complete at 8:00 PM. There is a $5.00 charge for the 4-H Veterinary Science Curriculum Manual, which will be collected at the first meeting.

The program is organized jointly by St. Joseph County 4-H and the Michiana Veterinarian Medical Association, represented by Dr. Martin Langhofer, DVM.

The 4-H Veterinary Science Project is designed to help young people, grades 3 – 12, better understand animals - their health and disease problems.  The project will teach the basics of pet and animal care.  There will be several outside speakers, films, and special activities.

More information on the project may be obtained by contacting 4-H Volunteer, Pam Mahlie at the Western Veterinary Clinic (574) 234-3098 or Matt Bellina, St. Joseph County 4-H Youth Development Educator, (574) 235-9604.
