by Shondra Brown on February 6, 2015

February is our “Guess How Many” contest.  Take a gander at the front desk and see if you can estimate how many candy hearts are in the jar!  Enter a guess with each library visit, and you could win a book prize pack.  The contest will run from February 2 – 21, and the drawing will take place on February 23.

Book Bites will take place on February 19, at 10:15 a.m.  Children will hear the story, “Fox’s Garden” by Princesse Camcam and participate in either a craft or an activity related to the story. No registration is required, and all ages are welcome to attend.

Join us for our family programming on February 19, at 6:30 p.m.  This evening we will be celebrating with a Valentine Mystery! The mystery is finding out what book you’ll be checking out…adults and young adults will enjoy “Blind Date with a Book”, while the younger ones will enjoy “Unwrap a Surprise Book”. Participants will also have a chance to create a Valentine’s Card to take home with them.  Registration is required, and all ages are welcome to attend!

Story Hour, ages 3 – 5 years old, will hear “Silver Stories” from Caldecott Honor books and participate in an activity and/or craft. February 23 and February 24, 10:15 – 11:00 a.m., registered children will hear “Tops & Bottom’s” by Janet Stevens.

Beginning Story Hour, children ages 18 – 36 months, will shake their sillies out and sing to a story on February 25, at 10:00 a.m.  Registered children will enjoy a craft or an activity, and will hear “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” by Iza Trapani.

Save the date!  Join us on March 26, at 6:30 p.m. for an author chat and signing with Christian Fiction author Natalie Replogle.  Replogle is the author of the Come to My Rescue romance series and will have books available for purchase that evening.  Refreshments will be served, no registration is required.

“Valentine’s Day” is currently running on our Dial A Story Line at 862-4441.  Hear the background of this holiday, and why we celebrate this special day.
