Food for Fines a Big Success at Wakarusa Public Library

by Shondra Brown on November 8, 2014

Thank you to all the patrons that donated food items during our food drive and fine forgiveness promotion at the Wakarusa Public Library.  This was a great opportunity for patrons to pay down their fines while donating to a great charity…it was a win-win situation!  A total of 172 items were collected and have been donated to the Family Christian Development Center.

Story Hour children will hear bear stories, including Dog and Bear:  Two Friends, Three Stories by Laura Vaccaro Seeger, on November 17 and November 18 at 10:15 a.m.  The sessions are for children ages 3 – 5 years old who are registered for the program.

Stop in and enter our weekly drawings during the month of November!  One entry may be filled out with each library visit to be entered to win a picture book and/or a set of picture books.  Make sure to browse our special displays during November’s Picture Book Month in the children’s room as well.

The annual Toys for Tots toy drive will be running until December 11.  A donation box is located in the front foyer of the library, and donations will be distributed through the Family Christian Development Center in Nappanee.

Hear “The Brave Tin Soldier” playing on our Dial A Story line this week at 862-4441.  After enduring some death defying acts, a toy soldier is returned home by a friendly fish.
