After 25 years of service to the Wakarusa Public Library, Linda Hartman’s last day of work was September 19, 2014.  Library patrons, along with family and friends, helped celebrate this milestone at a Retirement Open House given in her honor which was held in the Meeting Room of the library.

Mrs. Hartman has worked diligently over the years as the Audio Visual/Historical Librarian putting her talents to use in many ways.  One of her areas of expertise was in the Historical Room, helping to preserve the community’s history and answering questions for individuals researching and completing genealogical matters.

Her time spent in the library brought many smiles to the faces of little ones.  Always greeting the children by name, she made sure to ask how school was going and what they have been up to.  Once the inquiries were out of the way, she would then precede to stamp their hands and give them one more smile before sending them on their way.

It goes without saying, but Mrs. Hartman will greatly be missed by the staff and the community of Wakarusa!
