Madison Township 4-H Celebrates Winners

by Jessica Grabowski on October 8, 2014

The Madison Township 4-H club had a wonderful banquet/awards ceremony on September 27, 2014.  Friends gathered together to share food and laughter and best of all, those awards and silent auction goodies.  Jeanne Lehman did another outstanding job in locating sponsors to donate items to the auction and the club was able to raise $1247.  All of the fundraisers fund Madison Townships scholarships and awards used to support Madison Township 4-H’ers.

Fifteen ten year members received $100 scholarships every 4-H’er present received a pin.  A lot of plaques and trophies were handed out to the 4-H’ers placing Champion and Reserve Champions in each and every project that earned that honor.   Congratulations and special trophies were also handed out to :  Senior Ambassadors, Ellen Marker and Tori Langford; Junior Ambassadors,Jessica Grabowski and Noelle Marker; Outstanding Junior Leader of Madison Township and also St. Joseph County went to Bremenite, Lindsey Miller.  Ellen Marker also won the title Miss St. Joe County Queen.  Madison Towhships Friend of 4-H was awarded to  Betty Lou Horvath.  Adult Outstanding Leaders  with 1- 5 years of service was Wanda Schmeltz 1-5 years, Amy Jones  with 6-10 years, Mel Lenig 11+ years, and Jeanne Lehman as their Career Leader.

New Advisory Board members and Junior Officers were elected, as well as updates given on the Fair projects and timelines.   It was a great night and it is always so nice to see the support Madison Township has for the 4-H program.
