“Movie Quote of the Month” Contest at the Wakarusa Public Libraryby Shondra Brown on December 26, 2014 |
January is ‘Movie Quote of the Month’ contest time! Find our mystery quote by the front desk and see if you can identify the movie that it is from. Here’s a hint, we have the movie here at the library! Enter your guess of the movie title for your chance to win a book prize bundle. An entry may be filled out at each library visit. The contest will run from January 5-24, and the winner will be drawn on January 26!
The Library Board will be meeting at 7:45 a.m. on Friday, January 9, and the public is welcome to attend.
Adults can join us on January 9, at 10:30 a.m. for our Adult Winter Reading Warm-up session. This will be a time for registered participants to come together and share, in a group setting, what books they are reading for the Winter Reading program, or just visit together while sharing refreshments. Staff will have an activity in the children’s room for your toddler or preschool child to participate in while you attend the session.
January 13 is Bingo time! Registered children in grades K-5 are still able to register for our upcoming Afterschool Special, Winter Bingo. Participants will use pictures of familiar winter items to play the game, and prizes will be awarded for BINGOs!
Join us on Thursday, January 15, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm our Snowflake Festival. We’ll be celebrating everything fun with snowflakes! This is our first program to kick off our Year of Family Programming events. These programs are family friendly and geared towards the entire family. Snacks will be served, and a snowflake story will be shared. Registration is required for each event, and all ages are welcome to attend!
“George Washington and the Cherry Tree” is currently running on our Dial A Story Line at 862-4441. Hear the retelling of the famed childhood incident.
