Nappanee Public Library Offers Tour

by Jessica Flores on September 2, 2015

Did you know you could use a VHS to DVD converter or check out a portable die cut machine at the Nappanee Public Library?  How about “selfie sticks” or jigsaw puzzles?  There are more than books at the Library! New cardholders and those interested in learning more about the Library are invited to a guided tour of the Nappanee Public Library Monday, September 21, 2015, at 7 p.m.

In addition to discovering where to find current bestsellers, a favorite cookbook, or the daily news, participants will be introduced to many special services. These include the Library’s makerspace, online catalog, eMedia, computers and copiers for use in the library; framed original art, CDs, DVDs and many other materials for loan.

The library, located at 157 North Main Street, holds the tour the third Monday of every month and by appointment.

September 19 is “National Talk Like a Pirate Day,” and the Nappanee Public Library is taking the celebration a step further by celebrating for an entire week! Stop in and rattle off your best pirate talk to an NPL “deckhand” between the 19th and the 26th, and you’ll be entered into a drawing for a “galleon of loot” on Saturday, the 26th. “Fair winds” to ye (good luck)!

A pirate storytime will also be held on Monday, September 21, from 6:30 – 7:00 pm.  Designed for kids age three to five, the program will feature a treasure hunt, stories, and “chanties” (songs) of the high seas! No registration is necessary.
