Search and Find Contest in March at the Wakarusa Public Library

March is our “Search and Find” contest.  Can you find the “Seussical” character hiding somewhere in the library?  Once you find it you’ll find your ticket needed to enter the drawing for a prize.  The contest will run from March 2 – 21, and the drawing will take place on March 23.

Help us celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday on Monday, March 3!  This event is for all ages, and programming will run from 12:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Official birthday party times will be from 3:15 – 4:00 p.m., and from 6:30 – 7:15 p.m.    Other activities that will be available all day include activity sheets, and a “make-it/take-it” craft.  If you want to enjoy a birthday treat, you’ll need to attend one of the party times!  No registration is required for this event.

Story Hour, ages 3 – 5 years old, will hear “Silver Stories” from Caldecott Honor books and participate in an activity and/or craft. March 2 and March 3, 10:15 – 11:00 a.m., registered children will hear “Click, Clack, Moo:  Cows That Type” by Doreen Cronin.

Beginning Story Hour, children ages 18 – 36 months, will shake their sillies out and sing to a story on March 4, at 10:00 a.m.  Registered children will enjoy a craft or an activity, and will hear “Splish, Splash, Splosh” by David Melling. 

Book Bites will take place on March 5, at 10:15 a.m.  Children will hear the story, “In Like a Lion Out Like a Lamb” by Marion Dane Bauer and participate in either a craft or an activity related to the story. No registration is required, and all ages are welcome to attend.

Christian Fiction author Natalie Replogle will be visiting the library on March 26, at 6:30 p.m. for an author chat and signing.  Replogle is the author of the Come to My Rescue romance series and will have books available for purchase that evening.  Refreshments will be served, no registration is required.

Hear how young George learns a lesson of life in “George Washington and the Colt”, currently running on our Dial A Story Line at 862-4441.
