Wakarusa's Ice Cream Social is a Successby Amy Wenger on August 12, 2014 |
The heart of Wakarusa's town square was brimming with school pride on Thursday evening, August 7 as an enormous crowd of Wa-Nee supporters came to demonstrate their spirit and officially welcome the 2014-15 NorthWood High School football team, cheerleading squad, and marching band to another memorable year.
It was all part of the annual Ice Cream Social, which was presented by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Abel. There were homemade cookies and ice cream, donated by Grandma's Pantry and Cook's Pizza, and "Doc" Abel did a wonderful job speaking of his affection for the town and for the individuals who truly make Wa-Nee a community.
The NWHS football squad will officially launch their season with a short road trip to take on archrival Jimtown this Friday evening.
